Maxme India has landed & here’s why

Maxme India is here!

We’ve packed our bags, stamped our passport, and officially landed in India to help people explore human skills development and unleash their superpowers.

So why India, what will we offer, and where to from here? Here’s the story behind Maxme India

India is on the rise.

It’s not only the world’s most populous country but also its fastest-growing large economy and a thriving centre of innovation. In late 2022, India overtook the UK as the world’s fifth biggest economy, with economists predicting it could be third (behind the US and China) by 2030.

Undeniably, technical skills and industry knowledge are crucial factors for business success in a growing economy. However, one aspect that sets organisations apart in a dynamic economy is the ability to leverage soft skills.

And therein lies the crux of Maxme’s presence in India: to help individuals, teams and organisations across this dynamic, rapidly growing economy to unleash the human skills they need to thrive - today, and into the future.

India’s appetite for human skills

India gets it – you need human skills to unlock growth and fulfilment in your career and life.

Recent research by Indeed shows that most companies are increasingly looking for workers who are considered creative and have a growth mindset.

Employees are hungry for skills too:

  • A massive 73% of Indians are interested in investing in education/upskilling compared to the global average of 55%

  • 9 out of 10 (88%) Indian workers believe upskilling is necessary to future-proof their careers.

So strong is their belief, Indians are even willing to spend their own money on upskilling - nearly Rs. 2 lakh (AUD 3,778.59) annually out of pocket for further education, to be precise.

And they’re not hungry for just any skills.

We’re talking about soft skills, also known as human skills.

Across all generations in India, soft skills such as decision-making and problem-solving dominate the top skills needed for career advancement.

A recent study revealed the primary motivations for Indian professionals to pursue further education included increased job security, a rise in self-confidence, and developing leadership skills.

Yet many Indian bosses fear that young people lack the balance of academic grades and soft skills such as critical thinking and creativity needed to fulfil the country’s potential.

According to Accenture’s Fueling India’s Skill Revolution report, employers in the IT industry are concerned that most of the technical graduates they see are not work-ready.

“That sounds like a job for Maxme”, we thought.

Helping India unleash human skills

As a world-leading specialist in human skills development, we knew we had the ideal menu of products to offer Indian organisations and individuals. With brilliant resources on the ground, we started by launching Hodie, our human skills development app.

The first of its kind, Hodie combines gamified content, practical exercises and tools to supercharge human skill development, potential and productivity. Users can choose from short, multi-day, multi-topic programs in one vibrant and gamified app.

In Australia, Hodie is helping thousands of humans thrive in work and life through the power of soft skills, from bouncing back from setbacks to dealing with conflicts, self-awareness, salary negotiation, and much more.

Following the launch of Hodie, we’ve already started working with Indian organisations on powerful human skills programs to help them attract and retain talent, increase engagement, and build more purposeful connections with their people and between them.

We’re thrilled to be putting human skills in the hands of one of the world’s fastest-growing economies to help it realise its potential in the years ahead. Watch this space as we announce the launch of more programs in India.
